This Might be the Last Key West Post, so Lots of Pictures!

We had such a fun Spring Break with the girls here!  :)  Our first full day, we took a "Charlie" (trolley) tour and it was super fun!  Claire looked at me, so excited once and said, "Dis iz a weally fun wide, Mommy!" with a HUGE smile on her face!  Such fun to sit in a seat with a window that rolls down without a seat belt on!  :)

Gigi just thought it was the best day ever because she was held all day!  :)

SpongeMan!
Key Lime Guy as we passed him on the Trolley

Sloppy Joe's was the bar Hemingway liked to hang out at and here's a picture of his house.  We did not get there to look at it and his 43 six-toed cats.

This was an interesting story.  Sister Louise Gabrielle had this stone grotto built at St Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church as a way to protect Key West from hurricanes.  It was dedicated in 1922 and there hasn't been a direct hit on Key West since 1919.

Another interesting story is a great deal of the houses have their porch ceilings painted light blue because they say it fools the bugs/wasps/birds into thinking it is the sky and they won't built their nests there.  I say it's worth a try!

We ate at Hogs's Breath Restaurant and had the table right in front of the "HogCam".  We called Mick's work and GrandDad and texted a bunch of people and they, along with my friends Kari and Lori, were able to log on and see us!  :)  It was a lot of fun!

Then we made it to the Blonde Giraffe and had two pieces of Key Lime pie and Key Lime Pie on a Stick.  Aren't the girls "Spring Break 2010 - Key West" shirts and dress for Claire adorable?  :)
Our last big stop for the day was at the Little White House where my favorite President, Harry Truman, stayed 11 different times throughout his presidency for a total of 176 days.  When he got down here, he changed from his suit into a Hawaiian shirt and still conducted business, but did it in a more relaxed way, also focusing on the camradarie of his staff.  I love him!

Here's a picture of Mallory Square for our cousin Mallori Wagoner!  :)
Chickens roam free around Key West.  We came across this Mommy and her baby chicks as we were leaving.

Thanks Key West for a wonderful Spring Break!  Maybe next time when we're here, we'll get a golf cart!  :)
