Tzusu Beach

Audrey went to Tzusu Beach on the last day of Phase 1 of her DEFY Camp and has been clamoring for us all to go.  Now I know why!

She calls this the "Ninja Playground"

I posted on an Iwakuni Facebook page, asking for directions and received some, but we never would have made the turn without Audrey in the car.  I told her she had to pay attention and be our tour guide and I was so impressed because she knew right where to turn!

At the parking lot, there was this sign (I'm endlessly fascinated by the Japanese signs)

which I'm guessing means "beach."

So our tour guide, Audrey, says "That's NOT the playground!" (which was right in front of the parking lot).

and took off up a hill, down a hill through some trees, down another hill
Mick says as we're climbing down these stairs...."You know...we're going to have to climb up again!"
and in a clearing was the zipline!
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The end when it stops you is super fun!!!!

Way to go our Fearless One!!!!

I'm hoping we didn't break any of the rules!  This was posted by the zipline! ☺
And then down ANOTHER hill and in the trees, with lots of mosquitoes, but to give our tour guide credit....she did tell us we needed bug spray, was FINALLY the Ninja Playground!

But even with our warning we forgot the bug spray so we only stayed in the zipline/ninja area for about 10 minutes.

The not-as-fun playground did have a rollerslide though and man, I wish I would have had one more snap on my camera because Mick almost landed on his bottom and he had the FUNNIEST look on his face!  We all were laughing our heads off!!!!

And here's my sweet Claire, not acting goofy, right before the haircut.

She's my Girl with the Curl!  When she is good, she is very, very good and when she is bad....she is HORRID!
And here's my sweet Gigi!
I ♥ her smile here!!!!
Everyone told us that this ISN'T the beach where you should go, that's a few more kilometers down the road, but it sure looked pretty to me!

With this one as pretty as it was, I can't wait to see the one where they told us to go!
And here's Claire in her more normal mode!
TaDa!
I want to give Audrey HUGE credit for not only getting us there and being so aware of her surroundings, even when she's a passenger on a bus, but for waiting so patiently for us to get our act enough together at home that we could take a break and venture out.  Also, by the time we got there, which was much later than she initially asked, there was a storm rolling in, so we only got to spend about 20 minutes total there and she did not complain, not once, that IF ONLY we had left earlier, blah, blah, blah....nope!  She just got in the car and was happy that we had our little adventure.  She is being a great American Ambassador on our adventure in Japan and I appreciate her very much!  Love you honey!!!!!!  xoxo

Do you see our little Ninja in the top rope thing?
