Okay, this is kind of confusing, so stick with me.
When I had the immunization records office transcribe Audrey and Olivia's immunizations for school here in Japan, I originally had them use the Florida School Immunization Records form. Which said that they didn't receive Hepatitis A shots.
We needed to get the girls registered today (school assignments come out tomorrow....not exactly the last minute but I can see it from here) and they said that yes, it's required here and not required in the States so go get them a shot.
We packed all four girls into the car to take them down to the hospital to get the shot. I had my series of Hepatitis A shots this last spring and knew that it's a painful one and was DREADING IT for them and for me!!!
We had their full records on the Express Shipment which was supposed to come in on July 23rd, but came in 4 hours after our Regular Shipment arrived last Thursday. We went to pick the full records, not just the Florida School Immunization record, up from medical records first (had turned it in yesterday) and held our breath and.......drum roll please............THEY DID HAVE THE HEPATITIS A SHOT!!!!!!
I'm so glad I'm a "Vaccinator" and have my kids get everything, even when not required. It saved me four crying girls today!!!!!!
