It's Not Ladies' Night

So tonight, my people, I'm deviating from the Mom/mostly kid/aren't they funny/cute/adorable path and telling you that I went out for Moms' Night Out at the Wine Bar here in the neighborhood.

I've had a rough week.  Month.  Year.  Six Months.  Year.  Anyway....tonight, on the night I break free (at least for the past three months, in a row!), the night when I usually cute myself up....I wore my yoga pants....although I've never done yoga.....and my Mom to the 4th power shirt.  Just didn't have time.  And there was baby food on my right leg. 

Dear Lord.  Never notice how much those arms needed worked out.  I should crop that out.  Anyway.....

Earlier this evening, I was tired of being unappreciated at the dinner table and I picked up my crockpot of pork and beans and my pot of soup that I had planned for dinner, hustled the kids in the car and took it to the Higgins', where I knew it would be eaten and praised.  We were hanging out on the back patio and I said, "CHOP! CHOP! Let's get going! Moms' Night Out in 20 minutes!"

My friend Liz was a little bit hesitant about her appearance and Mick, looking at me in my t-shirt and I-don't-yoga-but-I-like-the-waistband-pants, declared the theme of the night, "They Don't Call it Ladies' Night."  :)

EXACTLY!  It's MOMS' Night Out!!!!  :)  Ladies Need Not Apply!  :)  We giggled the whole way there.

These women didn't get the title memo.  They were there for Ladies' Night.

But then the pretty and mighty started to fall.  

Or at least spilled their wine.  

And then cheese started to be thrown. 

And we ended, as we knew all along, at Mom's Night, 

or in the case of this picture, Marine Wives' Night Out.  

And don't even get me started on the reasons why religion (or politics, for future reference)

should not be brought up, amongst friends.
