Whew! Glad that is done!!!!!!! :)
Much of what I dreaded wasn't too bad. I was able to feed her until 1:00 so I set the alarm for 12:30 and got up and topped off her tank with a little milk. Then a pedialite bottle at 4:30 which seemed to satisfy her. We got in the car around 5:00 and made our way down to St Joseph Children's Hospital, where we were in February for her respiratory problems.
They were so very kind at check-in and fawned over her long eyelashes. I told them that I glue them on each morning....such a vain Mommy....now plastic surgery on her six month birthday! :-0
Dr. Habal came in, his usual charming, jovial self, and they took her back at 7:30 on the nose, pushing the crib alongside while they carried her, still swaddled in her blanket and in our peanut shell (sling).
The surgery was around an hour long and they came and got me for recovery because she did not want her bottle. I ran in and started nursing her and she calmed down immediately. :)
Dr. Habal said it went perfectly. and said we could go home. After about an hour in recovery, they walked us out to our car and we were on our way!
She and I took a three hour nap today and both of us feel good! I've been doing the Tylenol, then Motrin treatment every three hours, back and forth and am going to give her some Tylenol with Codeine for the evening.
Her bandage stays on until Wednesday when we follow up with Dr. Habal.
We went out for sister Claire's spring program and just had a bit of cereal and applesauce and will then head to bed.
Mick and I are both so glad that we did this, that it's over and that it went so well!
Here's a picture so you can rest easy too. Her eye is a little swollen and may get a little black, but all will be good. I have socks on her hands so she won't try and get at her bandage. (Tracy, you gave this outfit to Audrey as her birth gift!) :)
She's such a chill baby....hasn't been fussy, hasn't tried to take the socks off her hands, hasn't fussed at her bandage....gives me high hopes for the need to keep a sun hat on her (ordered three different styles this evening) since sun shouldn't get to it for a year to help make the scar become invisible.
Thank you EVERYONE for your positive thoughts, prayers, vibes, juju, love and support! I felt the love extra today!!!!!!

LOL about the fake eyelashes and plastic surgery. It must have been really hard for you when they rolled her back into surgery but I'm just so glad that it all went well including her recovery. She is a little doll baby, that's for sure. xoxo
