Olivia - VIP

Olivia was the VIP in her first grade class this last week!  VERY exciting stuff being the VERY Important Person!

I wanted to celebrate her birthday (hmmmm...a day shy of two months late....so can I just say 1 month late?) as well as celebrate her VIP'ness so on Friday I took in the accoutrements for root beer floats.  This is what happens when Mommy doesn't like cake!

As luck would have it, her teacher, the fabulous Mrs. Wilson, had me come in at 2:00, right at the time of her VIP presentation!!!!
Blow this up and you can learn some things about Olivia!  ☺  It points out that she is that coveted middle child position where she is both a little sister AND a big sister!  Hooray!
Poor littlest sister had to be woke up from her nap to go, but she was proud to be a part of her sister Olivia's presentation!
Olivia was pretty proud to have her littlest sister there too!
I just love first graders....they still like to make rules and agree to them with their signature about how to be a good class.  I feel like I could eat them with a spoon when I see posters like this one!
Do your best!
The kids enjoyed the root beer floats a lot and I went around and filled up their glasses with more root beer a few times.   Gigi just crawled around the room while I was playing bartender and at one time I turned around with a root beer can in my hand and saw her on top of this table.  I didn't get a picture of that, but captured that memory with this snapshot.
As Mick says, "She is T-R-ubble."  :)
I really love Olivia's teacher, Mrs. Wilson.  This is her first year in the Department of Defense system and she landed in Japan the Monday before school started.  She is STILL in Temporary Lodging, but I think gets to move into her house out in town (it was being built) in December.  There is a "Mr." Wilson as well and he was the chaperone for Audrey's field trip a few weeks ago and told Mrs. Wilson (we found this out at Olivia's conference) what a funny and well behaved girl Audrey was!  Mrs. Wilson said that Mr. Wilson kept talking about her wit!  She does know sarcasm!  :)

Anyway, being a Department of Defense teacher is a fantastic opportunity (are you listening nephew Daniel?).  They pay for you to come over here, a housing allowance and a good salary.  Some countries have a one year commitment and some have a two year commitment.  There are quite a few teachers with children who live in our neighborhood on base and then more live out "in town."

So without further adieu....I present to you, Mrs. Wilson and her VIP Olivia Wagoner!
Mrs. Wilson is the SWEETEST and such a wonderful match for my little tender heart!

On Fridays, the PTO has the kids bring quarters and they can buy pickles (isn't that funny and so exciting for the Wagoner Pickle Girls?) or pencils (popsicles when it was hot out).
Happy Pickle Day!
And just in case you wanted to learn about my little first grader....here is her KWL Chart.  (What do you KNOW about Olivia, what do you WANT to know about Olivia, what have you LEARNED about Olivia?) ☺
She has a bike AND a scooter!  :)
 I love you Olivia!
Great job at school!!!!!
I'm putting this in your favorite color! ☺
