The culmination of the quarter long study on Roman and Greek mythology and history was on Audrey's birthday with their "Sixth Grade Excellent Adventure." They kids studied a God/dess and made a board on him/her and acted out as the God/dess when someone would come up to them. It was really fun and even more fun now that it's over! :)
| Audrey was Vesta, the Roman Goddess of the Hearth and Home. I think she had a pet donkey (thus Eeyore). |
| Shaina was Diana, the Roman Goddess of the Moon. (Fantastic bow!) |
| Lebet was Confucius, God of the Fortune Cookies. (Need to point out that Lebet is a girl, short for Elizabeth. So proud of you for absolutely rocking the facial hair!) :) |
| Macy was Maia, Goddess of the Spring and Fresh Beginnings. (Her poster was my favorite!) |
| Zach was Pan, Greek God of the Shepherds, the one with goat feet. (And a great hat and pants!) |
| Matt was Seth, Greek God of Chaos and Confusion (and a great mask!) |
| Haille was the Egyptian Cat Goddess Bastet (MEOW!) |
| Colby was Alexander the Great the King of Macedonia, a pupil of Aristotle |
| Mason (left) was Pericles the Greek God of Peace (so why the stabbing?) and Shane was Plato, Socrates' pupil, the Greek Philosopher |
Thank you to all of the 6th grade teachers for all the hard work and help, but especially Mrs. Silvas for helping the kids learn to tackle a large project and break it down into parts. I think they will definitely be ready for 7th grade in the high school building next year!
