Hello! I'm so behind in posting and wish I could take the time to get caught up, but it's going to be a while! We still haven't felt any aftershocks and feel pretty safe down here. Such a national tragedy and wondering how it will affect us directly...there are lots of scenarios swirling in my mind, but all speculation so not worth putting into written word. I will keep you posted as we know things, but thank you for all of the e-mails, calls and messages!
Life still goes on here (Funny example of how we shelter the children....Yesterday Olivia heard me talking to someone, a full 24 hours after the disaster began and she asks, "Earthquake? What earthquake?") and we went to a Mardi Gras party last night! It was hosted by a group of friends at one of the community rooms, less than two blocks from our house. Love that!

| Some of my girlyfriends! |
Mick was dressed to the New Orleans hilt and I could only add some sparkle to the occasion.
 |
| I looked at this picture after our friend Brett took it and said, "Need more of body! I hate my arms in this shirt!" |
And this is what he took.
 |
| Which let's be honest....FUNNY! ☺ |
But I had him take another one like I meant!
I did like my hair last night....as long as I am holding you captive on my blog....take a look.
 |
| I did it myself! Shhh! Two ponytails and some bobby pins. :) |
I was so proud to be with the King of the Party....when I needed to write my name on my Hurricane cup....I let people know how I felt!
 |
| Still "Hook 'em Horns", even with the LSU baseball cap! ☺ |
I really think that Mick's wife should step up her Mardi Gras game. Perhaps a Mardi Bra like this next year? My birthday is coming up, you know! ;-)
Because Mick was dressed New Orleans from the inside out. I had him "take it off" and show everyone what was under that King robe!
 |
| As you can see, he did so reluctantly and with great discretion! |
 |
| His "Rock 'N' Bowl" shirt was given to him by our friend and Gigi's Godfather Beau Higgins who is from New Orleans. Apparently it is a "fine" New Orleans institution. You can look for yourself by clicking here. Beau is a large, broad shouldered man and he got a matching one for himself. He had "Mermaid Man" embroidered on his shirt and "Barnacle Boy" (The super hero and his sidekick from SpongeBob Squarepants) on Mick's. Mick wears it with GREAT pride!!!!! |
 |
| Eat your heart out ladies...he went home with ME last night! ☺ |
So another fun night here in small town Japan where we are extremely thankful we live in the Southern region of Honshu rather than the Northern region.
May God be with all of the Japanese people!
