Polar Express Field Trip

I walked into Olivia's room tonight to turn out the lights and lay with her for a few minutes and she was watching the "Polar Express."  Tomorrow they are heading back to school and it reminded me that I had forgotten to blog about her field trip on the last day of school before Christmas break!

The whole first grade and however many parents who wanted to come walked to the movie theater (about 1/2 mile) to see The Polar Express.  It was also a pajama party and all the kids and one Mom came in their pajamas.  Can you guess which Mom came in pajamas?

Come on...really?  You're surprised?
I told Olivia that this is quite a neat opportunity to be able to WALK to a real movie theater during school for a field trip!
We were driving with a friend of Audrey's the other day, playing "I Spy" and she said, "I spy with my little eye something beige.....all the buildings!!!!"  But besides the tan buildings and cooling pipes.....isn't my little girl so cute?!?!?  ☺
It was a really fun field trip.  We all got popcorn and a drink and it cost something like $4.00 for the trip.
There are 3 first grade classes.  Olivia is the mint green hat hiding in the back.
There are some real benefits to living on a military base!

That's awesome that they got to do that for a field trip! Grady loved the reinactment on the Kearney trolley and you also would have been the only parent in pj's going with us! Love your spunk Sue!! Happy Holidays!
