Last night we wheeled our tiki bar over and had a potluck party with our friends at Park Square, which is two blocks from our house. Mick was a terrific bartender, serving up bloody marys, margaritas and purple murples, a special concoction for the ladies that has blueberry vodka, pink lemonade and frozen blueberries in it for garnish. He even served up some purple drinks for the little girls with Sprite and blueberries and when the blueberries were gone, he poured the Sprite in the blueberry bag to get the last of the purple goodness out. He's a great host!!!
That's our friend Beau, who was green with jealousy over the bar on wheels. He kept saying that if the truck comes and we need to get rid of a couple hundred pounds for the move to Japan, he will gladly watch it for us! :)
The kids played and played and played with the scads of kids who were there. Every once in a while we would count off the kids, There's 1...2.........3........3........hmmmmm....anybody see Olivia? Oh, there she is. Back to the party! :)
Mr Beau deserves multiple pictures because he was employed nearly full-time giving thrill throws to the kiddos. It's truly heart-stopping to watch, but he assures me he's in control. :-0 Olivia is his best customer!
It was our birthdays, above...me on the 6th, Julie on the 8th and Kristen on the 12th. Kristen's husband Matt also had his birthday on the 4th and graduated from Grad School on Friday.
Gigi's wound has healed nicely, but we need to keep it out of the sun for at least a year. I go to the plastic surgeon again on Wednesday and he will clear me to put sunscreen on it, as well as give me a scar reducing cream to put on it that will help the scar to fade. I also have hats for her, but she rips them off quite quickly. We'll need to keep working on it. So even though the skin has healed and there's no need for a band-aid due to an open wound, I put a band-aid on it just to make sure sun could not reach it. We were in the shade 99% of the time, but we can't be too careful the next year.
This is the 1% where she's out in the sun. Audrey wanted to show her the fountains. :)
I started to try and wheel the bar home, but Gigi grabbed on and said, "Let's stay!!!"
So Mick and Olivia took over and wheeled it home through the alley. It was a great inaugural night for Mr. Tiki. We have big dreams of happy hours at the end of our driveway in Japan and in Omaha. Because, no Beau....you're not getting the bar! We may only take 7,000 pounds over to Iwakuni, but 200 of them will be this bar! :)
Here's a link to some more pictures if you are so inclined.

Sounds like such a great time! I need my own tiki bar ;) I absolutely LOVE the first photo of you and Mick--so cute.
FUN! Awesome traveling bar. The girls are looking cute as ever. Sounds like you have a great neighborhood. Don't you have a great neighborhood everywhere you live!?
Or is it, neighborhoods become great because we move there? ;-)
I can't tell you how awesome it is that you have a bar on wheels. We will totally come visit you in Japan (mostly to see you, but also because of the bar on wheels, haha).
The photos are great. I love the one of the girls, and the one of you and Mick, too. I can't wait to get my new camera (this week!) with the hopes of finally getting some equally good shots!!
There's a little something/something coming at you for your camera. No way for me to have sent a gift note. So, when some random thing comes at you....it's probably from me. xo
